Hello everyone!
I'm Lin. Sorry to post late; I don't have internet at home. I earned my MA from the U of I in TESL 2009 and my PhD in Linguistics in 2013. My areas of interest are L2 writing and pronunciation, phonology and Swahili. I don't fancy myself a writer, but I enjoy writing about my experiences in nature. I've been teaching full time in ESL programs since 2014, and I had the chance to teach a rhetoric class last semester.
I love hunting (deer, pheasants, turkey, ducks, geese, rabbits etc.) I ate a groundhog once, but I wouldn't really recommend it. I fish as long as there's open water, and I switch to ice fishing when the ice is good. I'm a novice beekeeper, though in a moment of hubris this spring I thought I was more advanced and then had to teach all my classes with half my face the size of a zeppelin.
Over break I spent a lot of time working Skipjack, my 10 month Brittany pup. This was his first pheasant season, and by the end he was slightly more of an asset than a liability. Watching him work is one of my greatest joys.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone today!
