Nice to meet you all!
Hello everyone!
My name is Emi and I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Foreign Language
Acquisition Research and Education (FLARE). This is my 4th year in
the program and I am hoping to finish next academic year (Spring 2018). I focus
my research on Peer Review, in an L2 Spanish classroom setting. My interest is
the role of the feedback giver, and how their efforts as reviewers corresponds
to their performance as writers.
As for my preferences in reading or writing, I read a lot of
academic content (e.g., articles, publications, books, etc.), and for my
specialization, I read and write about non-fiction personal narratives. Out of
academia, however, I also like to read about variety of areas, including health,
nutrition, art, and design.
As for my hobbies, I like dancing, running, swimming,
hiking, or doing any other sport. I just like to stay active, it keeps me
going.
Over the break I went to Spain, spent time with my family,
and I also went on a roundtrip to the south of Spain. So, I had time to relax,
laugh and enjoy with friends. Overall, I think I took it easier because I
already know this year 2018 is going to be particularly challenging. But I want
to think that I am now mentally prepared for it.
